We made a strategic decision to try and focus more on our incredibly popular brand Footmates® rather than on the parent company Badorf Shoe Company, Inc. Unfortunately, we do not offer backorders.

If an item becomes out of stock due to a warehousing mistake after you have placed your order, a member of our customer service team will notify you as soon as possible and we can either try to find a replacement item, or cancel your order.

If wanting to know the future availability of an out of stock item, please contact us and provide the item details. We will be happy to give you an estimated re-stock date.

We’re sorry you were not able to complete your order. Our website is live and reflects what is in stock at the moment.  Products are only reserved once the checkout process has been completed, not simply by having them in your shopping cart.

We do sell our brands to approved retail stores with physical store locations.  If you have a physical store and are interested in carrying Footmates®, Tsukihoshi®, or RICOSTA®, please contact us and provide your store name, physical store address, contact name, contact email, and phone number.  We will then put you in touch with a regional sales manager for account consideration.

In short, we offer free ground shipping within the contiguous U.S. on all orders and free return shipping within 30 days of receiving your order if the shoes are unworn, undamaged, and in their original packaging.

Yes! Orders needing to be delivered to PO Boxes or APO/FPO/DPO locations will be shipped via UPS SurePost (delivered by the USPS) and should arrive within 2-7 days after the order has been processed and shipped. We offer free ground shipping within the contiguous U.S. on all orders.

If you need to make a change to your delivery address, please contact us immediately!  Please provide the order number, your email, and the new delivery address when submitting this request.  Contact us now. 

We will do our best to change the shipping address on any order, however, depending on the amount of time after the order has been placed, address changes may be subject to a Change Order Fee of $25.00. 

If we can catch the order in our fulfillment center than no fee will be charged.  If the order has shipped and we must recall the shipment from UPS and re-ship the order to a new address, then the $25.00 Change Order Fee will apply.

In order to get you the shoes you want as fast as possible, we do not offer an exchange program.  Simply place a new order for the item or size desired, then visit our Returns Center to send back what you no longer need.  Both shipping and return shipping are free!

Payments & Refunds

We accept all current "Shopify Payments" forms of payment. Methods of payment currently include: Visa, MasterCard, Discover, American Express, PayPal, Apple Pay, Shop Pay, Google Pay, Elo, JCB, and Diner’s Club.

Once we have received and approved your return, please allow 5-7 days for any issued credit to post back to your original method of payment.

Once we have received and approved your return, we will issue a new gift card with the refund amount to the email address used on the original purchase.  We are unable to add the funds back to an existing or used gift card.

Gift Cards & Promotional Discount Codes

Yes we do!  A gift card for quality shoes is the perfect gift for family and friends with children.  Get one now by clicking here ( Gift Cards).

Once a gift card has been purchased, the email address used during the checkout process will receive an additional email containing a unique gift card code that can then be used at checkout to redeem the gift card value.

Please note that if you are purchasing a gift card for someone else, you will need to forward the gift card email to the recipient so that they will have the required unique gift card code to use when they check out.

It's super easy! Once you have selected all of your items and have placed them into your shopping cart, proceed to check out. In the checkout section showing the items in your cart, you will find a box labeled "Gift card or discount code". Enter the applicable code and select "Apply".

Please note that multiple gift cards can be applied to the same order, but only one promotional discount code can be used. A mixture of gift cards and one promotional discount code is also allowed.

No, you can't use a gift card to buy another gift card.

Yes. Gift cards are a form of payment. You can redeem multiple gift cards during checkout, as well as using any single promotional discount code that may be applicable.

No. Discount codes don't stack. If you have a 10% off discount, you can't also use a secondary 20% off discount code. Only one discount code at a time can apply to a single order.

Sizing, Fit & Product Attributes

Foot growth varies by child, but generally you should check your infant's footwear every 2 months and your child's footwear every 2-3 months.

Both Footmates® and Tsukihoshi® brands offer removable insoles, which can aid parents in checking if the shoes still fit correctly. Just remove the insole, and check how close to the front of the insole the "toe marks" are located. If the "toe marks" are right against the front of the insole, then it's time for a new pair of shoes!

No growth room, smashed toes, or complaints from the child about not wanting to wear a shoe are likely the result of shoes that no longer fit correctly. Poorly fitting shoes will also cause premature wear and can result in poor footwear performance.

Every foot is unique and every brand utilizes different shoe specifications when making their shoes.  Thus, there is no single or "perfect" measuring device for all footwear brands.  Trying the shoes on is still the only way to truly know if you have selected the correct size with the proper "growing room" for the shoe you are purchasing.

With this in mind, and utilizing our decades long experience with fitting children in the Footmates® and Tsukihoshi® footwear brands, we have developed unique "Sizing Tools" for Footmates® and Tsukihoshi®.

Each "Sizing Tool" is specific to either the Footmates® or Tsukihoshi® brand and attempts to take into consideration all the unique size and fitting attributes of the brand.  These "Sizing Tools" are not perfect, but they are the best that anyone can do in getting you close to the correct shoe size.

Proper fitting is very important to ensure the intended use of any orthotic is met.  With this in mind, we always recommend you work with a podiatrist, pedorthist, or fitting professional for these special cases.

If this is not possible, please reference our "Sizing & Fit" page with the following additional recommendations:

1. The Tsukihoshi® brand has had very good success with fitting Ankle-Foot Orthotics (AFOs). We have put together an "AFO Friendly" Collection from those styles that we know have been actively used by Orthopedic specialists due to their removable insoles and fuller fitting designs.

2. We recommend adding a ½ size and possibly up to a full size for AFO accommodation.  Please remember orthotics vary in size and construction so this will vary by design.

No.  We are very sorry but we do not currently handle these types of specialized requests.

Footmates® products are single-width but most products come with our proprietary dual insole Custom Fit System (CFS) that provides removable Medium and Wide width insoles for customized fitting.  All of our CFS products have the “M/W” width designation. All Footmates® sandals and some limited specialized items may not have the CFS system, and those items are designated as “M” or “medium” width. 

Tsukihoshi® is a single-width brand which does not have a width designation.  Our fitting experience and knowledge of the manufacturing specifications have proven Tsukihoshi® to fit like an “E-EE” or “wide” fitting.  

Yes, our Tsukihoshi® brand products have an excellent reputation in the custom foot orthotics community for their full fitting, removable insoles, and the accommodation of AFO’s.

We have put together an "AFO Friendly" Collection containing those styles that we know have been successfully used by Orthopedic specialists.

Footmates® shoes and sandals do feature all leather uppers and insoles, and where upper linings exist, leather linings.  You can find specific details relating to materials on the respective item detail pages. 

Tsukihoshi® products are composed of all “man-made” (non-leather) materials, and would be considered “vegan”.

Tsukihoshi® brand products do not use latex with any materials that have direct contact with the skin.  They also do not use spandex or elastane (textiles that can also cause reactions in children with latex allergies).  If your child is severely allergic, even to indirect contact, we’d recommend you consult with a doctor and/or take precautionary steps prior to using any new products.

A little maintenance can keep a shoe looking new and reduce wear and tear.  We recommend the following:

Footmates®:  For our leather products, we recommend using only a soft damp cloth to clean scuffs and scrapes.

Tsukihoshi®:  This brand is machine washable!  Machine wash cold leaving the insoles inside the shoes for washing.  Air-dry only, removing the insoles until dry.   Please do not place into the clothes dryer as the high heat can cause damage to the shoe components.


No! You can choose to create an account, but it's not mandatory that you create an account to place an order.

If you do create an account, and you are logged in when shopping, your address fields will be pre-filled when you go through the checkout process. A nice time saver. Viewing your complete order history is another perk of creating an account. No pressure, but we think it's worth it!
